Despite today's 5% rally for Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) shares today, its stock price has fallen back to 2006 levels.  Thus the conversation for a buyout by cash rich Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) or Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) becomes plausible.

Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) co-CEO Jim Balsillie said yesterday that "many customers are getting tired of being told what to think by Apple" - , after Steve Jobs tuned in to the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) earnings call to take aim at RIM and Google (NASDAQ:GOOG). The battle is just getting started in the mobile and tablet business.

RIM Shares Back Above $50 Level

Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) shares have quitely crept back above $50, closing Friday at $50.21 and added another 12 cents after-hours.  Since Sept 2nd RIM shares have gained back 13.7%.
