Over the past 12 months BP shares have traded between today's new low of $27.07 and its peak at $62.38.  BP shares are now trading with an incredible P/E Ratio of 4.5 and EPS of 6.36, it sounds like the deal of the century for would-be investors but there's just too much uncertainty to buy at this level. Any slowdown in clean-up efforts could place more pressure on President Barack Obama, who has faced criticism over his handling of the crisis, and BP, which has seen $100 billion wiped off its market value since the start of the disaster.

Going into afternoon trading BP shares are down -5.05% or $-1.45 and volume is currently at 59,716,772 shares traded.
