Stocks Rally but Bank's Lag: Citi, BofA, JPMorgan

Stocks are off to the races today, all but the big bank stocks that are up less than 1%, including such leaders as Citigroup (NYSE:C), Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM).

Citigroup Inc (C) shares have traded between $3.11 and $5.43 over the past 12 months.  Citigroup shares are now trading with a P/E Ratio of 0 and EPS of -0.36.  Citi commands a market cap of $112.7 billion and its shares have moved up 20.05% from its 52-week low.   Citi is in the news today due to a federal district judge deciding to not approve a settlement between the SEC and the company. Citigroup agreed to a $75 million fine to settle charges that it had misled shareholders about nearly $40 billion of sub-prime mortgage investments in 2007. Ultimately, the bank was bailed out by taxpayers.  Today Citigroup shares are trading at $3.89, up 0.52% or $0.02 and volume is currently at 190,905,193 shares traded.

bacOver the past 12 months Bank of America Corp (BAC) shares have traded between $13.02 and its 52-week high of $19.86.  BofA shares are now trading with a P/E Ratio of 0 and EPS of -0.3.  Bank of America's current market cap is at  $133.8 billion and its shares have moved up just 2.4% from its 52-week low.  BAC shares are trading at $13.34, up 1.1% or $0.15 and volume is currently at 95,064,762 shares traded.

Last but not least is JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM), its shares have traded between $35.16 and $48.20 over the past 12 months.  JPMorgan Chase shares are now trading with a P/E Ratio of 11.2 and EPS of 3.39.  JPMorgan's current market cap is $150.2 billion and its shares have moved up 7.21% from its 52-week low.  JPM shares are trading at $37.89, up 0.53% or $0.2 and volume is currently at 22,361,077 shares traded.
