Volume Losers for the Week: Qualcomm, PNC Financial and Western Union
This week has been a rough week for the markets, and the following stocks took some additional grief on unusually heavy volume.
QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) was blasted this week as its share price plummeted -$10.39 (-21.4%) to current trading levels of $38.18. The stock did so with an average daily volume of 50.4M shares for the past two weeks, as compared with 19.6M for the last quarter.
PNC Financial Services (NYSE:PNC) also dropped heavily in the last week , losing -$3.99 (-7.2%) as the last shares traded at $51.44. The last two weeks yielded an average daily trading volume of 14.2M as compared with 5.6M average daily volume for the last quarter. This seems to indicate some strong selling pressure on the stock.
The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU) has also taken a beating in the last 5 trading days, losing -$3.09 (-15.8%) to its last trade of $16.44 per share. The two-week average daily volume was up to 13.4M as compared with the average daily volume of 6.2M for the last quarter.
